1. How do you feel about Weston's urging to "let the facts lead you to a story?" Are you the type of person who can operate by choosing a fact for the character and THEN take "responsibility" for the choice?

2. In the reading (if you are able to comprehend it), Sternberg talks about blacklisting. How do you feel about censorship in films?

Censorship in film is a fact of life. At a basis, gut-level, it sucks. But at the end of the day, people are sinking a lot of a money in a film. If they wish to protect their investment with some censorship, so be it.

I don't think the government needs to be in charge of censoring materials, The ratings system was put into place for a reason, with the advent of the V-chip parents are able to control what their children at home watch. and movie theatres have rules against letting certain aged children into movies dependant upon their rating. Parants should be the ones censoring what they or their children see. If a studio does not want to produce something because it's content, thats their choice, if people want to see it, they will, and the studio will make money, if people don't want to see it, they won't and the studio will rethink what they produce. As long as the content of the material is made clear before someone views it; I don't think their should be a group that tells us what we can or can't watch.
