Different authors have different style of writing. But it doesn’t matter if you are writing a screen play or a novel; one of the most important things is to have the reader be able to picture everything that goes on. Sure many script writers could go ahead and write “Book looks at his wound and cleans it” but that’s pretty weak, and doesn’t make you picture anything. Instead you could write where it is, how deep it is, that it continues to bleed, that he wipes it away with a tissue and flushes it. This is exactly what the writers did.

Witness, unfortunately, I have already seen. Since every thing I read I picture, I picture exactly like I saw on the film. I’ve found out very quickly that I enjoy reading the screen play before seeing the movie. Then I see how a professional, who most times have been doing this for years, and I compare how I pictured a scene.

Questions

1) Since the two writers of Witness took the time to accurately portray the Amish people, can you think of any movie about the Amish that did not accurately portray them? Would you have known the difference?

2) Do you think you could live with the Amish like Book had too?
