A class in script analysis can provide several benefits, even if you do not plan to go into screenwriting or the film industry. One thing that was emphasized in this class was objective reading, a skill that can prove to be useful across several fields. We were taught to read between the lines and take a deeper and more meaningful look at the words written on a page. Practicing these reading techniques can also improve one’s writing skills, another useful tool for any profession or occupation. This class also gave us a chance to gain experience working in groups, which helps develop teamwork and communication skills. Overall, this was a very challenging and rewarding course, and I feel that I gained a lot of practical experience and information.
