I thought Anderson's use of technical work in the screenplay Boogie Nights was useful but sometimes distracting. It seemed that he omitted alot of scenes, and it felt as though the flow was interrupted by this. On the other hand it's understandable that he wanted the director to have other options. With all the extra tidbits and such I didn't feel like the script had been done thoroughly, as though maybe there should have been another final draft or something. It's always appreciative to have other options as a creative consultant, and a writer usually knows his work better than anyone. However I do feel that the final script was long enough and that no more scenes would have been appropriately added. The screenplay was interesting and unique, though maybe a little cluttered with technicalities.
1. Did you feel that the screenplay had a distinct flow, or that the audience might be somewhat confused?
2. Did the screenplay create a visual prompt for you?
