The authorial voice in the 3 scripts that we have read differ greatly. A Boy's Life reads like, what I would say, is a traditional screenplay. It reminded me of a clear cut screenplay with only a few colorful statements to spruce it up. The Apartment was written more like a novel than the other two. I was not aware that screenplays were allowed to be written like that concerning industry standard. However, I feel that it was way more enjoyable to read than the other two. I also think that the author of The Apartment did a great job with dialouge that was given. It was full of great subtext. Adaptation was different from the others in it that the author really puts the reader into the mind of the lead character which happens to be the author. I do not think that it was the most enjoyable screenplay to read as I found some of the descriptions to be arbitrary. For the most part I did enjoy these screenplays and I look foward to the ones to come.

Questions:
1.) Would todays movie studios be okay with a script that reads like a novel, i.e. The Apartment? I thought that most screenplays had to follow a certain specific format.

2.) Does anyone have any strong feelings concerning the scientific means that Weston offers when disecting a script?
