B-Nights.

Boogie Nights was an interesting read. It was also a very graphic read.
I was a little taken aback at first, then I manned up and got used to it.
What really struck in the screenplay which I found interesting was the reference of the 'fps' the director wanted for a particular scene, it was off putting at first, then once I put two and two together (film about making film), it makes sense to be so technical. I dug it.
I've never seen the movie, so I would be interested in actually how the whole shebang turned out.
I found I didn't really "like" any of the characters, though I suppose that isn't required. But I also felt like I was supposed to, because everyone's downfall I read rather clinically without much sympathy. Maybe some actor performance could help some characters win me over.

1.)Did you "like" and sympathize with the characters?

2.)Did you find the director-like comment help or hurt?

Of course I sympathize with the characters! This story is dealing with human life, in which case you feel for people even if they are the ones to blame.

No the director like comments didn't bother me at all.
