Scripts are guidelines. Certain scripts are used more in depth then other scripts because certain scripts are better. But what is it when the script tells you exactly what to do? It’s then that it no longer a script, but instead a bible. If a script tells the director what do, why need a director? Just give the script to an acting coach and a camera man, and tell them to have fun. Can this work? Yes. Personally, if I were to receive this script I would be annoyed thinking, well, what the hell do you need me for? Instead of going step by step, I would definitely try out the shots, but also try out my own. As long as money/time is available, why not shoot a scene with different angles, different perspectives. If the screen directions from the script are better than so be it.
1) Anyone who has seen the movie, how much do you enjoy the long shot at the beginning of the movie? It feels like it was such a simple shot from the direction, but it really isn’t at all.
2) Was anyone uncomfortable about the mention of porn in the film?
