Final Blog

This has been one of the most interesting classes I've taken. It offered a new look into films that I honestly had no idea about and has really made me glad that I'm a digital media major (no offense...) It seems like really hard work to write and have a movie script published. That's not to say it won't help me though in my (hopeful) field of work. I want to get into the production of video games and while game scripts are much easier to write and much less likely to be turned down, script analysis is still relevant and this class has helped me understand some of the 'do's and don'ts' of script writing and analyzing.

As far as how the class will change the way I watch movies, I'm not so sure it will. Maybe it will make me slightly more analytical, but unless I both read the script and watch the movie, I probably won't notice any difference. What this class has done though is it has made me interested in screenplays. I had zero interest in ever reading a screenplay before this class and now, if I happen to stumble across one in the future and it's a movie that I've seen or plan on seeing, I would probably take the time to read the screenplay so that I can compare the two mediums.

It's been an interesting experience, and I feel like I've learned a lot.
