Final Blog

Script analysis proved to be quite the beneficial course. Enlightening to say the least, the curriculum covered in the course provided a new sense of what a screenplay is, is not, and what it can become. This class in script analysis exposed a multitude of screenplay styles to the students in an engaging fashion. Between the means of critical thinking questions (blogs), script coverage, and scene analysis, Script Analysis demonstrates how a script consists of more than just format, story structure, and words. One learns that screenplays are methodically and imaginatively crafted with believability, coherence, and objectivity. With this permanently in mind, perspective upon films greatly alters. A greater appreciation is acquired through the new intimacy with the art and science of the screenplay.

1. How do script coverage and scene analyses provide the same familiarity with a screenplay than simply rereading?
2. What other methods are there to analyze scripts?
