This class was a very beneficial one and, having taken it, I do look at movies even more indepth. During this class I have been more exposed to scripts than even before, but hopefully less than I ever will be. By reading scripts of different styles and by different authors and having to dissect each very thoroughly, I've gained a somewhat broad perspective of scripts and storytelling.
Everytime I see a movie now I wonder what the writer(s) is like, or how he/she was feeling or thinking while creating the story or what their influences were. The class also gives you a good idea about how a director would approach a script. Such a course as Script Analysis can only leave you smarter than the average bear when it comes to the basics of Scripts and storytelling.
Discussion Questions:
1) Would you take the course again? Why or why not?
2) If you could suggest a script for a future class, what would it be and why?

I would not take this course again. Even though I learned so much, the work was strenuous and I spent many sleepless nights trying to survey beats. This was the most demanding class I have ever had. I'm not lazy and I actually like a good challenge from time to time. However, I had never experienced this much work for a single class before. It was overwhelming at times, but the work strengthened my understanding of the concepts we were learning. It was a good class, but I would not take it again.
