Unfortunately, I watched WITNESS years and years ago so I may forget some important keys but when I read the script seems to me it is almost similar to the movie. Some have their ways (ANAL) to get precious and organized like William Goldman’s but authors have their own style of writing to write novels, scripts, or books and whatnot. They know one thing important and that is using sense of feel, touch, smell, hear, and see (imagination association) in writing to pull readers and able to associate with its story. What Earl Wallace and William Kelley did was to make excellent use of descriptive language to stimulate the reader's imagination and allow them to visualize a movie. Often most screenwriters don’t use TECHNICAL such as CAMERA PAN, VARIOUS OF ANGLE SHOTS, so on in scripts as most directors decide what to envisions and bring the story to alive.
1. What did the AMISH think of WITNESS at that time it was made? Was it portrayed them in a correct and manner way?
2. Which is better William Goldman’s Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid or Earl Wallace and William Kelley’s Witness following the descriptive and imagination descriptive and using technical terms?
